The best quality iron ore is processed in the furnace to make sponge iron or Direct Reduced Iron through the DRI process. The waste gases generated are used to generate power.
The sponge iron is then subjected to induction furnaces to make steel billets using a concast route.
These billets are then hot-charged to the TMT rolling mill directly from the billet concast unit in the shortest possible time resulting in cost savings. TMT bars of high-quality grade are produced. Size accuracy is achieved through advanced production control measures.
The hot TMT bars are cooled by passing them through a ‘walking beam’ cooling bed. This process enables each bar to cool step-by-step till it reaches the end of the cooling bed giving them a strong outer core and softer inner core. Thereon, the bars are transferred to the dispatch bay.
